Riyadh concentrates its programming in large indoor arenas and purpose-built entertainment districts. Jeddah is a port and resort city with a long seafront, and its buying patterns follow that geography: waterfront activations, resort and beach-club programming, cultural districts such as Al Balad, and a summer calendar that shifts to the evening rather than shutting down.

The practical consequence is that a Jeddah brief very often starts with the site and the sea rather than with a ceiling height. Two of our formats are natural fits — and one of them is not.

水上与地面两条线Two lines of programming: water and ground

• Flyboard — the Red Sea format. Open water with calm conditions, jet-ski berths and shore power. The Corniche and the new waterfront developments are built for exactly this. Best between October and April, and workable on summer nights.
• Globe of Death and acrobatic sets — the ground format. A 15 by 12 m performance area, a floor rated to about 5 t per square metre and an audience from 500. Fits plazas, resort forecourts and exhibition halls.
• Wheel of Death — indoor only. It needs a genuine 15 m clear height over the wheel position. Coastal open-air sites rarely offer that with the required rigging point, so this act belongs in an arena or a large indoor hall, not on the Corniche.
• Drone light show — where it shines. A waterfront skyline at night is close to the ideal canvas, and it carries none of the water-safety constraints of an in-water act.

This is the part that separates a Jeddah quote from a Riyadh one, and it is a question of engineering rather than price. Salt-laden air and high humidity attack steel, fasteners, cables and electronics far faster than a dry inland site, and the failure mode appears mid-run rather than on day one.

• Daily end-of-show regime. Wipedown, lubrication and inspection become a scheduled task, not a chore that happens if there is time.
• Consumables budget. Cables, shackles and anything unpainted are treated as consumables on coastal runs.
• Electronics. Control gear and audio are housed and protected rather than left rigged overnight where spray can reach them.
• Storage. Between shows, the kit goes under cover. This single habit is the difference between a clean run and an unplanned week of repairs.

• October to April — the open-air window. Waterfront shows, beach-club programming and outdoor rigging all sit here, and hotel and footfall peaks arrive in the same period, so site availability tightens early.
• June to August — nights only. Daytime outdoor work is not practical. Waterfront programming moves after sunset, which suits both drone and water-based acts.
• Ramadan and the Eid holidays. Timings move and content is reviewed. Silent acts adapt most easily, which is a genuine scheduling advantage in this market.
• National occasions. National Day and Founding Day bring city-wide programming and heavy competition for the same waterfront sites.

• For any water-based act: currents, typical wind, water quality arrangements and the berthing situation.
• Whether the booking sits inside a season programme or stands alone, and how many shows per day.
• The audience profile and whether the setting is family, resort guests, corporate or a mixed public crowd.
